The VLSI research group conducts research in various chip level design. Topics include Variable length, Multiple output LFSR, structural health monitoring and integration, and high-speed FPGA design. The vairable length, multiple output LFSR applies a programmable circuit to control the LFSR. The design provides a flexable LFSR and multiple serial outputs. The structural health monitoring is a patent pending technology that can monitor structure integrity in real time. The design targets low cost, low power, and wireless. The high-speed FPGA design targets expandability. Several methods have been used to reduce power and increase performance.
