The Electromagnetics group conducts research in a wide variety of areas dealing with electromagnetics. This includes topics such as antenna design for RFID (radio frequency identification) circuits, component analysis and design for microwave engineering, analysis of electromagnetic interference (EMI) effects in circuit and system design, characterization of antennas and GTEM cells for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) measurements, analysis and development of methods for use in computational electromagnetics, and analysis of electrostatic discharge (ESD) effects in circuits and systems. As described below, current projects include: (1) Computer-Aided Microwave Design Education, (2) Properties of Multiple Microstrip Antennas in Several Layers of Anisotropic Material, (3) Determination of Higher-Order Multipole Moments in a GTEM Cell (4) Passive UHF RFID Design and Utiliation in the Livestock Industry, (5) RFID Antenna Design for Cattle Tagging. For additional details on past projects please consult the appropriate publications.
