NDSU students receive ND EPSCoR awards

From It's Happening at State, May 9, 2007

Four NDSU students received Advanced Undergraduate Research Awards (AURA) through the North Dakota Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (ND EPSCoR). AURA provides students with 10 weeks of research experience during this summer and approximately 10 hours per week during the fall semester.

Recipients of the ND EPSCoR AURA awards and their mentors are:

AURA activities provide undergraduate students an opportunity to experience academic research and to learn about graduate school when they need to make critical decisions about the future. AURA students become contributing members of the research groups in which they participate and are mentored into research careers. AURA students are expected to apply for at least one nationally competitive scholarship based on the research they conduct.

Since 1995, there have been more than 200 awards to students from communities across North Dakota, surrounding states and countries.

ND EPSCoR is a federal and state funded program designed to improve the ability of university researchers to compete more effectively for federal, regional and private research grants in sciences, engineering and mathematics.
